We had a great time performing at Abbott’s 71st Get Together. What an honor to be on that famous stage!
It was an even more special event for Katalina as her family was able to come to Colon to see their performance. Her uncle Ivan came all the way from New Zealand (yes the country) to see her perform.

Not only was the magic terrific, but it was great to catch up with old friends and meet new people. We enjoyed it very much and we can see why the Abbott’s Get Together is a place people want to return year after year.

We just got back from a week long magic convention in Louisville Kentucky. Wow, we can finally take a breath. The convention was very well organized and we were able to enjoy tons of outstanding magic.
We were lucky to be able to compete in both the close-up and stage competitions. We performed two mental magic acts, one involving comedy mind reading and the other a fast paced multiple prediction act we call “Carnival of Destiny”.
First, the stage (Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts) is absolutely beautiful. What at thrill to be on stage there!
Second, it was wonderful to be competing with the best magic acts in the world: Timo Marc, David Sousa, Soma, David Kaplan, Shawn Farquar, Marc Oberon, Mulan, An Ham Lim, Peter Pitchford, just to name a few. It was an honor to be on stage with them.
Third, where else can we watch some of the greatest magicians alive today and get to meet the current and future stars of magic? It was fantastic to be able to meet many great, great performers.
A big thank-you to everyone we met at the convention. We made lots of new friends and had a ball. We look forward to seeing you again.
Christian and I just performed at a corporate event where attendees ranged from the age of 5 to 65. Our show is totally clean, so we do not have to worry about changing our comedy or language, but the question is whether the type of entertainment is something that all ages will enjoy.
Generally it is a good idea to have different entertainment for children and for adults, however, we have found that both groups can enjoy the same show. We truly believe that children’s ability to grasp concepts and enjoy more complex entertainment is under-appreciated.
We performed our Mind Tripping show at this particular event and everyone loved it. We use audience participation in our show and when there are children in the audience, we can substitute children for the adults. The key is for the entertainer to assess their audience and be able to adapt as necessary. Since we are seasoned performers with lots of experience, we were adept at making this happen.
We performed 4 hours of mingling magic at Hoosier Park. This was our first time performing at a live race track.
The guests loved it!
Not only did they enjoy live horse racing, they were having a blast watching the close-up magic and mind reading. Although people have seen some magic on TV, most have not seen any close-up magic; it is extremely powerful!
Magic definitely leaves a lasting impression and provides a topic of conversation for days to follow. That’s why magic is perfect for corporate meetings, conferences, and events.

We love performing at colleges and universities that have a high percentage of theater, music, and art majors. The students are very emotive and are familiar with live entertainment. They enjoy the whole performing process since many of them are performers themselves.
Thank-you Becca and the students at Shenandoah University.

Trade show magic is fun yet challenging. The goal is to get conference attendees to the booth, put out information about the company in an entertaining way, and then let the salesmen finish the job. You have to constantly keep an eye on the salesmen to see when the next customers can be sent their way and if they are not ready, continue to entertain them until they are.
Christian and Katalina are naturals at getting people to the booth. Christian hooks them with his boisterous voice and outgoing personality. Katalina jumps in to entertain with something they have never seen before. What a combination!
People return over and over the see us entertain. That is the goal: to get people talking about the entertainment and make them say to others: “You have to go see the entertainers at _____ Company’s booth”. This keeps the company in the forefront of the atttendees minds.
When you can combine entertainment with product and service information, retention of data is much higher.

February was the blizzard month. March is the blossom month. We are so happy to be out of the cold and into the warm, sunny, blossoming southern US. We have had a great time this past week in Georgia. Everyone has been so friendly and warm, just like the weather. We look forward to the next few weeks enjoying Spring in the south.

We are once again in New York. It really is a beautiful state, especially around the Finger Lakes region and the Adirondacks. Many of the activity directors have become our friends over the years as we spend time at their campuses each year. It is nice to go back to a place where we know that not only are the activities directors great people, but the students look forward to seeing us again and it feels like home.
One of the things that we like to do is to get feedback from the students. This is a great way to interact with them after they have just seen things that they cannot explain. We get to find out what they thought were the strongest pieces; the ones that really blew them away. We also get to find out what they enjoyed most about our show. Here are a couple quotes from students:
“I doubted you guys every step of the way, but you always proved me wrong. Good Job!!!” Sheria
“Great job! Second time around I still can’t figure it out.” Amanda
“More than the magic, I loved the interaction with the crowd.” Jess

Robin and Ralph are icons at TC3. Between the two of them they have over 50 years of experience in student activities! They are great people and we always enjoy seeing them. Congratulations on the new student center. It is beautiful and we know it will be a success.
After seeing our Mind Tripping show, here is what one student said: “It was insane and amazing.” - Mysiah

Christian and I had a wonderful time in Batesville Indiana! What a fantastic group of people! They were a super audience: nice, kind, and fun. We had 2 corporate shows and we had such a good time that Christian didn’t want the fun to end. He performed close-up magic after our stage show not only for our corporate clients, but for others enjoying a meal/drinks in the bar area.

Here is Alex, a senior in high school, performing a magic trick.
Last year we performed at his academy and when we came back this year, Alex was able to show Christian some magic tricks.
He started to learn magic because he loved the magic that Christian had performed for him a year ago. He was inspired and started to study and learn. Alex performed three tricks and did a great job. He took the time to learn and practice and it was good.
What Alex is also learning is that even if you do not go on to pursue magic as a profession, his ability to perform magic can be invaluable in the business world. For instance, what if you have a very important business meeting and a colleague is late. Alex could pull out a deck of cards and do some tricks to not only pass the time, but to get everyone in a good mood, have fun, and forget that the meeting is delayed. Magic is versatile and knowing a handful of tricks is always a good idea.
